"Last month, Adelle Kelley, shown, opened Moulin Bleu, in TriBeCa, a home furnishings shop that pays homage to the South of France. "I fell in love with the French stores, the way they decorate, which is a way of layering old and new," Ms. Kelley said. She has the French fondness for things that are, or appear to be, old or "not restored," she said. The 19th-century chest of drawers in the window ($2,500) has its original coat of paint. The mango wood picture frame, at bottom left ($115), is new but looks old. The shop also carries pieces like 18th-century chairs ($1,250) and new silver-colored candlesticks ($25). It's at 176 Franklin Street (Hudson Street), (212) 334-1130. ELAINE LOUIE "
